The Product: The Luxury Electric Company was created in 2007. It is the trade name for Potential Difference, Inc. In addition to the implied social meaning, potential difference is also the electrical science definition of voltage. Our first running demonstration automobile is one of the world's first, possibly the very first, all electric luxury five passenger sedan powered by Lithium Ion Phosphate batteries. We are not aware of any other automobile of that description. This first all-electric demonstration car has been built using a brand new Acura TL Type S automobile as its shell.

Production: In 2010, we intend to produce similar luxury, economy and mid-range vehicles using our own unique body design, shown via the car pictures link to the left. Conversions: Luxury car conversions are intended for wealthy early adopters of new green technology. The conversion prices are negotiable and intended to help further the development of this technology. We can take orders from customers who would like to receive an Acura TL or other conversion car.

Technology: Lithium Ion Batteries provide more power and lighter weight than any of the readily available battery types that can power electric vehicles. Unlike the lithium ion cobalt batteries used to power cell phones, laptop computers and some other electric cars, lithium ion phosphate batteries do not have a history of thermal runaway overheating.
